Since modern perfumery began in the 1880's, so many perfumery classics have owed their creation to chemical molecules and discoveries. Formulas for Chanel, Guerlain,Dior and Caron boasted original molecules sidetracked from their conventional chemical use and used in inspired overdose or application. Now, for the first time, new extraction techniques together with innovative olfactory recreation and photographic methods allow previously inaccessible plant, flower and fruit to feature in fragrance composition.
