Warm, rich, exotic, intense, spicy dramatic notes, often based on amber, vanilla, incense with florid floral top notes. Fresh, floral, sometimes herbal/mossy scents dominated by leafy, grassy, crisp notes. Lemon, bergamot, neroli, petitgrain, tangerine, grapefruit, cedar, syringe and lime. Reviving and refreshing. Rich, dark, smoky, deep, spicy notes usually intensified or contrasted with green, floral or animalic oils. Bouquets of flowers - tuberose, roses, lily, jasmine, lilac, muguet, ylang-ylang, violets, orange blossom etc. Fresh, sweet, feminine. Mostly florals and greens enlivened with notes of soft sweet fruits - peach, apricot, plum, pineapple, prune, and raspberry. Literally "from Cyprus". Longlasting, warm, mossy, soft dark scents. Very sophisticated, urban, couture and elegant. Usually chypres feature sharp, green top notes which soften to bases of oakmoss, amber, leather, vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood. Full-bodied, green, dark, aromatic notes of cedar, sandal, juniper, birchwood, rosewood, ebony, patchouli, oak-moss, lavender, clary sage. Entirely synthetic and quirky modern sub-group which uses a variety of chemicals (e.g. calene) to introduce a suggestion of the sea, lakes, rivers and streams to the top and middle notes of a perfume. As innovative and ingenious as the introduction of aldehydes in the early 1920's.

Fragrance  << Mona di Orio - Les Nombres d'Or  <<   Chamarré

Chamarré   Mona's fifth beautiful fragrance, decorated and bedizened like a Byzantine Empress's robe: a dark, sweet, woody oriental of immense warmth and seduction. The scent is inspired by Mona's fascination by the French adjective "chamarre", meaning "an explosion of colours, highly or richly decorated".

Chamarre is an elegant, dramatic fragrance in which dreams of seduction and eroticism merge in a perfect harmony. Aldehydic top-notes of lavender pave the way to the sensuality of warm, rich Florentine iris, Turkish rose absolute and velvety Parma violet. The gentle but swooning embrace of opoponax and ambergris brings the whole experience to a dramatic climax.
