Warm, rich, exotic, intense, spicy dramatic notes, often based on amber, vanilla, incense with florid floral top notes. Fresh, floral, sometimes herbal/mossy scents dominated by leafy, grassy, crisp notes. Lemon, bergamot, neroli, petitgrain, tangerine, grapefruit, cedar, syringe and lime. Reviving and refreshing. Rich, dark, smoky, deep, spicy notes usually intensified or contrasted with green, floral or animalic oils. Bouquets of flowers - tuberose, roses, lily, jasmine, lilac, muguet, ylang-ylang, violets, orange blossom etc. Fresh, sweet, feminine. Mostly florals and greens enlivened with notes of soft sweet fruits - peach, apricot, plum, pineapple, prune, and raspberry. Literally "from Cyprus". Longlasting, warm, mossy, soft dark scents. Very sophisticated, urban, couture and elegant. Usually chypres feature sharp, green top notes which soften to bases of oakmoss, amber, leather, vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood. Full-bodied, green, dark, aromatic notes of cedar, sandal, juniper, birchwood, rosewood, ebony, patchouli, oak-moss, lavender, clary sage. Entirely synthetic and quirky modern sub-group which uses a variety of chemicals (e.g. calene) to introduce a suggestion of the sea, lakes, rivers and streams to the top and middle notes of a perfume. As innovative and ingenious as the introduction of aldehydes in the early 1920's.

Fragrance  << Parfums Delrae  <<   Mythique

Mythique   is DelRae's latest creation. A delicate and evocative tribute to a mysterious and legendary beauty, Diane de Poitiers (1499 – 1566), the eternally youthful mistress of Henri II of France – who was in his turn the father-in-law of our own Mary Queen of Scots. Dressed always in black and white, the crescent moon her symbol, Diane was a woman of learning, compassion, glamour and guile. Mythique, designed by nose Yann Vasnier, captures her aura with a scent based around one of the most costly perfume ingredients, Florentine orris, which not only gives great softness and tenacity to the fragrance but which disperses a haunting fragrance of its own. Blended with this are oils from plants which now grow in the garden of Diane’s lovely chateau at Chenonceaux on the Loire: peony, ivy, jasmine & bergamot. Mythique
