| Etat Libre dOrange
The PHILOSOPHY:
Etat libre dOrange is the creation of the South African born but truly international Etienne de Swardt, a handsome charmer and devilishly skilful
conceptionalist.
At Givenchy, his first creation was the notorious OH! MY DOG , in which
he expressed his credo – to charm all comers, make himself the universal
pet: indispensable to all.
Fascinated by all things erotic and adventurous, seeking to love and be
loved, intrigued by the bizarre and the perverse, de Swardt is the ideal
ringmaster for this veritable circus of scents.
“Perfume is Dead! Long Live Perfume!” is his war-cry, celebrating a new
No Man’s Land of perfume where literally anything goes, where “provocative”
does not just mean saucy teasing but cocking a shocking snook at authority
and the establishment, and advancing the frontiers of olfactory science, art
and discovery.
In Etat Libre dOrange’s Declaration of Independence, Etienne stresses that
primarily he sees perfume as a tool of seduction, a means of exploring and
stretching the senses. His team of Noses flaunt their sexuality in their
creations, but however avant-garde, Etat Libre dOrange’s standards of
craftsmanship
and quality are second to none. Their materials are of the finest quality,
their inspirations are challenging, amusing ,sometimes disturbing.
You will never be indifferent to an Eta Libre dOrange fragrance and we think
you will never be alone, either!
