Isabey have recreated their exquisite fragrances from the 1920s for the 21st century: sumptuous florals in Gardenia, Fleur Nocturne and La Route d'Emeraude, as well as one of the most inspired Amber fragrances in L'Ambre du Carthage.

Fleur Nocturne was originally designed for Isabey in 1925 by the perfumer Julien Viard, as a successor to their glorious GARDENIA (already stocked by Les Senteurs). Originally known as Bleu de Chine, this legendary perfume is now recreated as FLEUR NOCTURNE in its distinctive blue and tangerine flacon.

An exceptionally rich but delicate fragrance, the top notes consist of white peach, apricot blossom and mandarin. The wonderful lush heart is a precious blend of jasmine, magnolia and gardeni prolonged with a base of patchouli, amber and vanilla.

The list of “Gardenia’s” ingredients dazzles and enthrals the senses: top notes of tangerine, orange blossom and ylang ylang; a heart of gardenia, jasmine, Bulgarian rose and iris; a soft tenacious base of musk, ambergris and sandalwood. “Gardenia” is the only perfume in the world its creators say, to use genuine, naturally extracted gardenia oils from the flower itself.
The effect is stunning – like walking into a glade filled with drifts of these lovely flowers opening under the moon.

A dramatic new oriental celebrating the ancient wealth of the Queen of the Seas and the atmosphere of erotic luxury, hedonism, cruelty and extravagance of Carthage – arch-enemy of Rome. A perfume inspired by Flaubert’s extraordinary novel Salammbo and originally launched in 1924. A treasury of ancient precious oils: bergamot, cistus, olibanum, osmanthus, jasmine tea, musk, amber and patchouli.

L'Ambre de Carthage

Another star from 1924 when Isabey perfumes were at the height of their grandeur. La Route d'Emeraude is a honeyed floral chypre inspired by the green forests and glittering flora of the French colonies of Indo-China. Exotic top-notes of cinnamon, rose and bergamot lead the nose into a tropical heart of tuberose, sambac, Moroccan jasmine and orange blossom. The oriental resinous base blends mosses with amber, benzoin and vanilla.
